I'm the volunteer.
There are still a few blocker bugs, see the tracking bug on
Bugzilla[1]. The feature also basically needs a rewrite before these
can be fixed (or at least bug 24134[2] can be), and bug 33399[3]
depends on some bigger features (something akin to an event system for
MW) and will probably require changes in other core scripts.
So it is not yet ready to be turned on by default. I am, however,
hoping to work on it in my free time and will submit some more patches
in September.
(And the LqT breakage was cause by sloppy coding in LqT itself, which
I also volunteered to fix; the change is pending in gerrit, as Erik
pointed out.)
