Couldn't agree more with Siebrand. Just as we're thinking of a mobile first design strategy, let's also please keep internationalization in mind from Day 1 when designing for en.wp.

In any case, please, please, please, talk this over with us (Localisation team), before writing something in stone that's an i18n nightmare. "Design and develop for English Wikipedia, then "productize" for *possible* deployment on other wikis" has bitten WMF in the ass enough now (ATFv5, PageTriage).
