Good Morrow Friends --
Rudy and I are looking at our respective schedules, as we'd like to
rendezvous in SF as well...
...and even if he can't make it due to work (stooopid work!) I may go *all
by myself*. Hah!
Having missed The SAW Reunion this summer [due to circumstances beyond my
control] I'd surely hate to miss this.
That being said, Kathy and Jayne: Where are you staying? I'd like to book
something ASAP, if possible. Please call or write to let me know.
Thanks for the invite. I'm all a'flutter with anticipation!

Dear David,
Thanks for the invitation. Would I were free! I lived in SF when I was a
wee lass of 22 ... and those were the good ole days, too.

T'was the Driskell Hotel downtown Austin lobby piano bar. Yep. Those were
the good ole days.

That's the point! DO!
Doc, I still remember you and me at a piano lounge (I guess in Austin in
1988, don't remember which one), the night before I started my drive out
here, and you tipped the chantreuse to sing "San Francisco, Open your golden
gates .... " as I left the bar. So fondly, I remember it. And a few years
later we got spend a little time in Santa Barbara, as you interviewed some
students for the Summer 1991, I think. It'd be great to have you (and
Joann?) out on the West Coast again.
The invite is serious to all! Make sure I have your contact information,
and I'll keep a list to keep people up to date.

This has all the wonderful stuff of fairy tale. Yellow-brick golden-gated
journey with summer folk and Indians and Figaro BBQ. Wish I could join you!
Send me a photo, OK? with Tony Bennett?
Love,
Doc

Hey all and everyone ...
Turns out there's a little gathering of some 2010 Summer folk that's going
to happen in early October here in San Francisco. Yours truly (who lives
here), Mike Godwin (who lives here), Kathy Blackbird (from Austin), Craig
Hurwitz (from Chicago), Jayne Noble (from Dallas), and Matt Kozusko (from
Philadelphia) are all planning a weekend of (certainly) fun in the City
(that's SF for those of you live in other "The City"s), (hopefully) sun in
the Bay Area (should be our Indian Summer), (possibly) opera (Marriage of
Figaro), (most likely) shenanigans (undoubtedly drunken blank verse), and
general conviviality. If you are going to be, or can be, in or near San
Francisco on October 9, 10, 11 (when I'll most likely have a bbq here in
Oakland), you are begged to let me know so we can include you in our festive
pleasures.
So consider yourself invited, and let me know if we will see you, and I'll
pass on more details as they evolve.
Yours now and always,
David
