Greetings to all. I have been overwhelmed by the responses. As many of you have noted, the exchanges themselves constitute reunion. It has really been great to hear what you are doing and from where, the stories, the "catching up" on everything. So keep those going. Stuff for a very large notebook indeed.
We began this reunion effort with only 16 folks from the reunion "class" of '95. The list grew to some 46 later. Now, thanks to you all and especially to Mike, we have some 150 on the list. We still have work to do, though. Mike has sent you another list of folks we'd like to hear from. So seek and find. Share the news. My goal is 250-300.
Thus far, all of the first 30 years are represented, 1970-2000, every one of those represented by no less than 3. Most response has come from the early '80's and early '90's. So we need to get to working on the other classes, inviting everyone into the conversation, participating as audience or performer for this special celebration.
To date I've heard from 25 who are eager to do the week-long session here, preparing for the performance on "Reunion Day," August 14. Five have expressed interest in the "short" version. I do hope to hear from more of you about these opportunities.
My exchanges with Mary, Alice, Kirsten, Terry, Madge, and Gail, the all-star, all girl, cheerleading, planning group have really been exciting. We have agreed that the week-long group of 20 will be working on scenes to be performed on Saturday, August 14. But we are as well inviting folks who cannot make that stay to perform either between scenes or at the various other reunion gatherings (before performance, at brunch, etc). Obviously something that will take time to work out.
Thanks to all,
Doc
Dear former Shakespeare-at-Winedalians,
As one of the cheerleader planning group ( knees still working, hallelujah), I just wanted to write to say how happy a prospect it is to think of seeing you all in one way or another at the 40th reunion. Here's hope for and extra encouragement to all of us who possibly can partake of it.
Cheers, Alice Gordon
