Right im starting a proposal to team up with unis (Journalism and Media departments) to get them to write some stories on wikinews in exchange for our help in how to improve etc. This would be good for us because we could improve our article count and maybe get more contributors and views. The only thing we would have to do IMO is to help them out like normal and to give feedback like usual with maybe and overall summary at the end (possibly).
The page i've started is http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/User_talk:Markie/Unis . Please add your views thoughts to this page.
Thanks

Which university do you think about? Or university in general? Or do you refer to another idea?

I believe as a start you should look for all Wikinewsies who are currently students. Does their college/university have a journalism school? Basically a face to face pitch is going to win more converts - and if we can say "these people already make use of the site" when emailing other places we'll build momentum.
If we're also offering an opportunity for professors and other lecturers to critique our style guide and contrast it with other news organisations then that gets us use as a reference. This is people reading what we have and commenting, an opening to getting them to contribute and offer input.
Brian.

We attempted something similar in the past...only thing is, we never really "attempted." We got the idea, but never did anything about it.
