We decided on the last WALRUS call to pursue a virtual WikiConference North
America, planned for December 11-13:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiConference_North_America#2020_(virtual)
This would of course be rather more informal and smaller in scale than a
regular WCNA, but we still hope to make it a fun and exciting event that
can take best advantage of the virtual environment.
You are invited to help participate in the planning by joining our Telegram
group:

Hi everyone,
The Rapid Grants for Wikipedia 20 are still accepted through 15 November.
If you're planning a Rapid Grant for a Wikipedia 20 event that will be held
in January, we highly recommend finalizing and submitting your grant
application by 15 November. Rapid Grants will continue to be available
later for those who couldn't apply during the November cycle or are
planning to hold their events later in the year 2021. More information is
available here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_20/Grants
Thank you so much!

Hi folks,
If you didn't see, the Wikidata 24-hour meetup starts today, and still has
1 hour slots that people can volunteer to host.
There are three very US-friendly slots still open at:
* 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific (0000 UTC)
* 10pm Eastern/7pm Pacific (0200 UTC)
* 11pm Eastern/8pm Pacific (0300 UTC)
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Eighth_Birthday/24-hours_meetup
It would be great to fill these slots and show WALRUS/Wikimedia US
community can lead in this area. Feel free to drop by the Wikidata Telegram
channel if you have any questions.
