Hi guys,
Just a quick note: generally Wikimedia chapters all have logos that follow
the Wikimedia Visual Identity Guidelines (
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Visual_identity_guidelines), and so
should Wiki Canada. (One of the points of the current chapters agreement
that chapters sign with the Wikimedia Foundation actually requires this, if
I am not mistaken.)
Of course, for unofficial use you might want to use one of the more
lighthearted variants currently on Commons, but for official use, you should
just go with the established pattern.
Best regards,
Bence Damokos

There are quite a few mockups on Commons here:

Some were created during chapter discussions back in early 2007, but I
don't know if any discussions about them or decisions on what the logo
should look like have taken place since then.

I am please to announce that we are in the
process of building the new web
site for Wiki Canada. Wiki Canada currently does not have a logo. If
you're interested in proposing a logo design for Wiki Canada, please contact
me directly. Initially we will need to replace the default wiki logo image
which is attached to this email.
