Hello Greeves, I'm Andrew Whitworth. I'm part of the chapters committee
(chapcom), and I'll be attending your IRC meeting tomorrow night (username:
wknight8111). I'm going to serve as the Wikimedia Canada official chapcom
representative. The chapcom is trying to appoint one member to oversee each
chapter. That way, there is an official point of contact between the two
groups. If you have questions or comments for the chapcom, direct them to me
and I will ensure they get to the proper channels ASAP.
I don't plan on talking much during the meeting, but I can probably help
answer a few questions (and those that I can't answer directly, I will find
people who can answer them). I'll also probably prepare a short summary of
the meeting for the chapcom members who are not able to attend the meeting.
Feel free to forward this email, in whole or in part, to anybody else you
think should know about this.
Sorry if you are not the correct person to contact (your name appears most
prominently in several places, so i figured you were a good place to start).

I use http://www.mibbit.com/ when I'm at school or not able to access my
computer. You just have to be sure to select the correct server (Freenode).

At the January 30, 2008 meeting I would like to discuss the formation of a
steering committee. The purpose of this committee will be to manage the
project of forming the Wikimedia Canada charity. This committee will remain
in place for up to 3 years or until the WMC charity is formed and a board is
elected. Any suggestions on what positions should exist on this committee,
please feel free to comment here on the list serv as it will make the
meeting more efficient. I propose we need:
1. Chairperson
2. Vice-chair person
3. Treasurer
4. Secretary (Organizes meetings, communicates results, maintains record of
meetings)
5. Legal adviser (Conducts research on legal issues relating to committee
activities and goals)
