Dear Wikifiends,
Joseph Reagle and Mako and I are discussing starting a reading group
about Wikipedia and institutions of learning this term. Details
haven't been finalized yet, but I'd like to bounce ideas off of anyone
who is interested and available. It would be hosted at the Berkman
Center, and build on some of the current work there and at the Center
for Collective Intelligence @ MIT, but would also be for sharing
projects and ideas of the participants, and developing a good reading
list of outstanding papers in collaboration from many different
disciplines, from operational strategy to political science to
sociology to the history of science and creativity.
There are also some guests from out of town visiting late next week,
from the French Wikipedia and from Wikimedia, and there's a chance
that we could get them to join for a Wednesday meeting.
I know this is short notice, but if we have enough interest I'll
arrange for light food and a room at Berkman - so please rsvp to the
list if interested with when you would be free after 6pm on Wed.
Warmly,
SJ
