A fine example; we should consider this model for exhibits in Boston.

Dear Wikimedia California folks:
I'd like to announce an exciting opportunity for the week of August 13-17.
I've been working with the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA on
a GLAMwiki (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) gathering that
would provide a way for Wikipedians to work with the museum to improve
Wikipedia articles about objects in their collection. If you haven't been
to the museum, it's a spectacular facility in one of the famous Silicon
Graphics buildings in Silicon Valley and hosts a new permanent collection
about computing machinery through the ages. (http://www.computerhistory.org/
)
Even more interesting, the museum plans to have an exhibit next year about
seven software technologies that have changed our lives, and Wikipedia will
be one of them. This get-together would also be a time to brainstorm and
have Wikipedians give direct input into what is believed to be the first
physical museum exhibit about Wikipedia.
This would likely be a 4-8pm event on one of the evenings of the week of
August 13-17.
Interested parties, please contact me by email or as User:Fuzheado on
English Wikipedia on which days you might prefer, and I'll send out a
followup notice.
Thanks,

Dear Bostobridgians,
Molly de B. mentioned to me that some Boston and Cambridge area folks
who can't make it to Wikimania want to hold an editathon here in
Boston or Cambridge. Perhaps one afternoon, for 3-4 hours, ideally in
a local library.
Molly's offering to organize the event :-) Eric, have you talked
with any libraries recently about holding such an event? I could
write to Michael Colford at the BPL. Molly, what days would work for
you? Let's make our request as clear as possible before pinging them
for space and perhaps librarian-attention.
I hope many of you are preparing for the NY editathon next week and
for Wikimania itself :-)
Regards,
Sam.
