On June 15th, Wiki Loves Earth 2019 ended in three countries: Taiwan,
Ghana, and Russia.
Thanks to Taiwanese, Ghanaian, and Russian organizing teams for making
these contests possible, as well as to the participants from these
countries for their valuable contribution. The international team will be
reaching out to the organizing teams in these countries to offer advice on
counting results and wrapping up this year's WLE edition.
Also, a piece of great news: this year, more African countries participate
in Wiki Loves Earth than ever before. The international team has prepared a
story for our blog on the challenges and opportunities for WLE in Africa.
Check the story out, share it with those who might be interested and,
whenever necessary, republish it under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

If you want your country' experience to be featured on the blog, the
international team would be happy to receive a story suggestion from you.

Yesterday, we reached the halfway mark of Wiki Loves Earth 2019.
The contest has already ended in 13 countries, with some deciding to extend
a local contest by the end of June. Thanks to organizers and participants
of each contest for their work.
According to the statistics at https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikiloves/, this
year's contest has already brought around 55,000 photos of nature protected
areas from across the world. That's a good result, but we still have a way
to go
14 new countries have started Wiki Loves Earth on June 1st. That's Canada,
Sri Lanka, Benin, Cameroon, Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria, Tanzania, Uganda,
Georgia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, and Chile.
You can learn more about each country's local contest at
