Hello guys,
I started the planning and contacts some hours ago and I already have
some good news!!
Now we are 3 members on the local organization committe ( 1 volunteer,
1 designer and I as facilitator/coordinator)
Today I contacted the Brazilian Confederation of Photography and they
confirmed the support to the WLE-BR contest.
So, they will help us to plan and determine the local contest's
regulation and they will help to promote the contest around all 110
photo clubs associated (near 5.000 photographers) covering all
Brazilian states/regions.
That's a good start!!

Hello. Prizes are not so trivial in Spain. He applied for a grant but we are looking for partners and sponsors. In case we get them we will not use the whole amount of the grant

I'm preparing a call to the WM User Group Greece to start organize the competition for May as we were planning last year. Sadly, although we had started preparations in 2014, we didn't manage to organize it fully. I hope we will manage it this year.
A question for everyone, regarding prizes: I guess that in countries where there is a chapter, covering the budget was trivial. For others, did you ask for sponsors or for a grant from WMF? What you think is best or easier?

Hello guys!
I started the organization of the second edition of WLE-BR!!!
I'm planning the Brazilian contest for May 1-31.
Since we don't have a chapter, the approved user group is inactive and
the Brazilian Catalyst Program was finished last year, I'm studying
strategies to organize the contest and get a budget for the prizes,
exhibition and etc.
Right now I'm alone trying to engage some contributors from the local
Wikimedia movement.

We had 8 weeks (May/June) in 2014. Whilst the time counted for >14.000
uploaded pictures from quite a mass of new users, it also meant a lot of
work for the few german volunteers answering questions and helping users.
We're currently thinking of May,10th to June, 10th 2015 as timeframe for
WLE 2015 Germany.
Since the first week of June is a very common excursion-weekend in germany
(4 days off for most of the country) we wanted to have the first week of
june within the competition.
Is there any current planning in other countries?
