Hi all.. When I started in the Wikipedia, about a month ago, I proposed a naming convention for articles in the Arabic Wikipedia, and I would like to discuss it here if possible to see if it is suitable or not. The Naming convention can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/38w6h
I want to ensure that EVERYTHING in it is subject to discussion and change. Since I suggested it, I thought that some changes are needed, but I thought that I should not change right on, but discuss here, as results will be much better.
First thing is the use of AL in the article topic. I think that the AL use should be very minimized in the first word of the topic name, no need for it, specially that now Wikipedia allow joining prefixes in the links. for example: al[[razi]] ال[[رازي]]
Will look properly shaped, as the AL will be combined with the link. So the initial AL should be eliminated.
The other issue is the use of AL inside the Topic, but not in the first word. Now, I am not sure that we should prevent that, as it is very common to have the second word identified with AL, and not doing so will make meaningless topic titles.
the word محتويات should be identified with AL to make the title in proper Arabic. Another thing is that I think that the use of AL in the articles in the Wikipedia name space (Start with ويكيبيديا:) Should be fine, as those articles names start with ويكيبيديا anyway.
I noticed that Ayman (I hope you are in the list) renamed few articles to make then comply with the no AL rule even though the AL was not in the beginning of the topic, this was not in my mind when I suggested those naming guidelines. I hope that we can discuss it here to know how we move from here.
