Hello,
As the simple English Wikibooks project is slated to be closed[1], the textbooks should probably be imported to the English Wikibooks. There's a request for this to be done server-side[2]. When this happens, there will be a mess to clean up. When the bug is handled, we should all try to pitch in to make the transition as smooth as possible for our friends from the simple English Wikibooks. There are a few hundred texts - not an insignificant amount of work, so I wouldn't want them to be the only people working on this.
Thanks, - -Mike

What, exactly needs to be done apart from fixing wikilinks to work in the new namespace? Perhaps someone familiar with the details could set up [[Wikibooks:Simple English merger]] to organise this. What'll happen to their project and help name-spaces?
Cheers, Martin
The Simple English help namespace is almost non-existent, and something that there isn't any point in moving. Out of projectspace, the only thing worth moving is [[Wikibooks:Basic English alphabetical wordlist]].
As for books, there is no standard way of setting out subpages, and this would need to be fiddled around with to fit in with ENWB (if there is such standardisation). Many books are stubs. The delete button might be getting worn out after a while, as many pages are simply placeholders.
There are nine administrators, one importer and thirteen rollbackers. What is being planned in regards to user-rights? I personally feel that the admins should lose their rights, but I have no idea how English Wikibooks works.
Finally, I have added a site-notice and a note on the Main Page of Simple English Wikibooks detailing the merger. You may want to edit it to explain further what is going to happen, as I only had the bugs, the Reading Room discussion, and the Meta closure to go on.
Regards, Microchip08 (a [rather inept] SEWB administrator)

Following the discussion at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Reading_room/General#Simple_English_W... is at least one person feeling that the vote at Meta may be a determination on the content of the project as well and that content should not be moved over at all.

nobody can prevent en.wikibooks from hosting GFDL content. It is up to the volunteers at wikibooks to determn what content to host. Volunteers will vote with their time and effort: anything that gets moved before the simple english project closes can b kept. anything else can go.
I'm particularly happy to hear about this project closure, I've been lobbying for it for years. Too bad it didn't happen when I was still actve enough to help.

They'd need to ask the English Wikibooks community for the tools if they wish to continue as administrators on that wiki.
