Is it very labor-intensive to bring language-specific subdomains to Wikibooks and Wiktionary? To have them seems like a clear step forward for the projects. What can I do to help bring this about?
A much better idea would be to make the interface language a user preference. Somebody has already coded this.
See: http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2004-April/009681.html
The category system being developed on test could be extended to create language-specific RC and other special pages.
With the above, there is no valid reason why Wikibooks should be split up - just give books descriptive names to avoid naming conflicts.
