This is something I have wondering too much time. The subpages could improve the current [[Some book:Some module]] convention and the others.
I have written a proposal to enable subpages on the main namespace of all the Wikibooks projects in Meta, see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikibooks_should_use_subpages

You convinced me. I am going to use subpages now for the textbooks that I develop. Somehow I never noticed this before or never realized how we could use it. What a great suggestion!
Thanks Manuel! Karl

To Brion or another helpful developer or knowlegable person;
I got the subpage feature to work on my userpage:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/User:Karl_Wick http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/User:Karl_Wick/Test
but I could not get it to work on my Business English page:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Business_English
Is the feature turned-on for userpages but off for the main wiki? I think this would be a great feature to enable on Wikibooks if it is not currently enabled. Or maybe I am just doing it wrong somehow ... When I tried to use the [[/Subpage]] convention on the Business English page it made this page:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki//English_proverbs
instead of this page:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Business_English/English_proverbs
Any advice on this?
Thanks! Karl

Yes, the subpages are disable for the main namespace and enabled for the Wikibooks: and User: spaces. The point is that they could be easily enabled by software reconfiguration. Since they were considered bad for Wikipedia, they are disabled in its offspring projects (except Meta). Maybe nobody realized that they would be very useful for Wikibooks.
We have to convince the developers to enable them, so register an account on Mediazilla and vote at http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1353
