I'll go to Wikimania if anyone out there can hook me up with a ticket there from here in Mexico...
The WikiMedia newsletter ( http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WQ/1 ) looks a lot more professional than I had in mind for the WB one. Just goes to show anyways that there are no new ideas out there .... maybe ...
I like the idea of coordinating thing with reports ( http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Reports ), or at least using it as a reference tool.
My proposal is that the WB newsletter is periodic as needs fit, that is, we send out a new one every once in a while, with no official release schedule. Could that work?
Karl
PS The English newsletter would focus on the English WikiBooks, and other newsletters could eventually be begun in other languages. However we could mention notable books from other languages.
Dang, I feel spacy today ....

I love it :-)
Perhaps coordinate this somehow with http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Reports ? (which, btw, we might want to do quarterly rather than monthly for all but the most active projects...)

PS - I don't believe nearly enough Wikibooks enthusiasts are coming to discuss wikibooks at Wikimania this summer. In fact, we're more or less at 0. A nice peaceful workshop about how to start a wikibook on [your favorite subject] and how to make it shine, would be welcome. http://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/Call_for_Papers

I'd like to try out an idea to have a periodic newsletter, maybe every two weeks or so. Here is the trial version:

Help me make it better so we can send it out.
I think that a periodic review of what we are doing will help us gather forces and get people more excited about what is being done.
Thanks, Karl
