Hello,
I thought this announcement might be appropriate for this list.
On June 14th, 2014 there will be a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon themed around Frederick
County Maryland History taking place at the C. Burr Artz Library in Frederick,
Maryland. Anyone interested in the rich history of Frederick County is welcome
to join. The Edit-a-thon will begin around 11:00 local time with a presentation
introducing Wikipedia and a presentation introducing the history of Frederick
County. At 12:00 local time we will be moving into the Maryland Room, Frederick
County Public Library's archives, to begin researching and writing articles.
The event will end at 16:00 local time.
So in brief that is:

Hi folks,
I really like and use the WMF "evaluating Wikipedia" brochure:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Evaluating_Wikipedia_brochure.pdf
But one issue with it is it's a fair amount to print if you need to make
lots of copies, or don't have a color printer available.
So to try to make an alternative for people who need to print it cheaply I
remixed the text into a 2-page handout that can be printed out back to
front as regular B&W:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:How_to_evaluate_a_Wikipedia_article…
Hope this is helpful for others, and of course if anyone can figure out how
to make it prettier or better, please do so!

Hi everyone!
Just another reminder that the GLAMout will be on Friday. We still have space on the agenda - if you sign up for an agenda topic, please indicate that you will be presenting (I'll try to make this clearer in the future). Right now I have four people signed up as attendees but only two agenda topics (a gentle reminder that only those presenting need to be in the Hangout - others can view on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbryqB4wmQM ).
And, if you can please post agenda items by close of business your time tomorrow to minimize last minute scrambling, that would be appreciated as well.
Thank you!

Subject: March GLAMout next week!
Hi everyone,
It's your monthly email - the March GLAMout will be next Friday! Please tune in at 12pm-1pm Pacific Time (3pm-4pm ET | 19-20h UTC). Right now the agenda is wide open and I encourage anyone who has something to share to sign up, and also volunteer to run the GLAMout if you're inclined (I'm available if no one else is but would also be fine with turning it over to someone else).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/GLAMout/2014/March
What is the GLAMout? It's a monthly online video-chat (using Google+ Hangouts) where cultural professionals, Wikimedians, or any interested parties can learn and chat about GLAM activities. The GLAMout is currently hosted by the GLAM-Wiki US Consortium. While the Google Hangout is limited to those presenting, anyone is welcome to view on YouTube.
Thanks and hope to see you online!
