Hey,
I recently made an icon for the Wikimedia Commons Android application. This was my first contribution to Open Source and was hoping to get some feedback.

Hi, Prateek, and congratulations on making your first contribution. :-) I see that Brion and Yuvi gave you feedback and merged your new launcher icon -- yay! With that in mind, are you looking for any particular kind of feedback? Do you perhaps want critique of that icon from a Wikimedia or an aesthetic perspective, or ideas about what to do next?
You might be interested in continuing to make icons - perhaps contributing to The Noun Project, which Wikimedia is collaborating with. https://blog.wikimedia.org/2013/03/13/the-noun-project-and-the-wikimedia-fou... You might also be interested in participating in the Open Design network: http://design.okfn.org/blog/
Thanks for contributing!
Hi Prateek. Thanks for your work on this. Adding May who is our lead visual designer, so she can provide detailed feedback.
Thanks Vibha

Yes, I was hoping for aesthetic feedback. Also, I wanted a better understanding of the usual direction of the design choices made at Wikimedia.

I most definitely would. The event seems to be over and the upcoming ones don't seem to be around where I live (Mumbai, India). I am currently working with Yuvi on the design of the Wikimedia Commons Android application, but I'll keep an eye out if an event happens in India.
Thanks for contributing!
You're welcome. Thanks for the feedback & direction!
