I'd like to see us use the same asset both for the audio player and the listen template as seen a lot in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris

Thanks Andre, I'd love for us to get something that is in-line visually with our wikifont style. simple, and feels comfortable in-line with text. This icon appears at multiple sizes, both extremely small 12-20px and larger 24-36px so something with a lot of shading, and color is unlikely to be as durable as we need.

If you've ever looked at Wikipedia articles for music, I'm sure you've seen the following icon:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gnome-mime-sound-openclipart.svg
See, for example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldberg_Variations The icon is fairly sloppy and isn't even symmetrical. I tried to clean it up a few months ago, but I've never really been happy with it. While this icon is not technically part of the MediaWiki software, it's use on our projects is ubiquitous. If any designers feel inspired to create a replacement, please let me know!
"Creating a replacement": Might be worth to check if sufficient icons are already available in distros / projects? GNOME's icon looks like
https://git.gnome.org/browse/adwaita-icon-theme/plain/Adwaita/256x256/status... nowadays and is LGPL 3 + CC-BY-SA 3.0, as one example.
