Hey all!
For those of you who haven't already been driven insane by me on the irc, I would like to tell you all about the blog I have set up for the CPG. The blog is located at http://www.loopaustralia.com/cpg/ I have set it up so, we can keep members up to date with important information since, the list seems to have so much discussion, it is difficult to sort through the actual information and the general congratulations towards thunderhead (I wish I had such a welcoming )
The way the blog is set up, you can register at http://www.loopaustralia.com/cpg/wp-login.php?action=register with your meta username and email. Once you have done this, you will be able to comment and post new stories. This would be a great asset to the cpg. Please register if you haven't already since I would like to get it going as soon as possible.
There has already been a post, take a look for yourself. All the data is encrypted on my servers and is not used for any other purpose.
thanks
brown_cat symode09 Deni Symonds Adolf Hitler Elmo
Sounds excellent. Registered, and will be posting soon.

Yes, it was partly a joke, (or a sad attempt at one) and partly an attempt to see if anyone actually reads the list emails. I was wrong, people actually do read the lost emails! I should have realized that we are a worldwide group - next time I will make sure I use george w bush - they are both similar in their tactics and, effectifity to fix problems (well actually, apart from the downside that hitler killed millions he built national projects and highways - unlike bush) anyway enough of politics.
I have uploaded a picture of jimbo photoshopped and unphotoshopped - http://www.loopaustralia.com/jimbofacelift.png I would have included the version with the pole dancer in the background but, I didn't want you to think I live on a funny farm (see: insane asylum)

Rather than taking the blog editing off-site, I've set up a demo for a blog which pulls content directly from Wikimedia wikis. I did it as a suggestion for an alternative to WikiZine since Walter says he doesn't want to create that anymore, but it could also be used for CPG communication, or anything else. The way it's set up right now, you need to be an admin on meta, commons, or any English language Wikimedia project to edit it. See http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Blog_snippet for details. For example, if you're an admin on Wikinews, you can make posts at http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Blog_snippet (currently blank).
The blog itself is http://blogs.wikia.com/external/

Hi, I'm an admin at the German Wikiversity and not really interested in doing this job in any other wiki, even not in the German Wikipedia ;-) It would be nice, for the non-admin members of our project, if there would be at least one admin for every project, wo posts news from them and for them to the blog. I've some friends at the English Wikiversity, who could do it for me. But it would be mangle for our project to keep normal users away...
Feel free to correct my English if necessary. I know, it's not very good. ;-)

Thanks Michael (and thanks Angela!),
I've set up a page for this on the English Wikiversity http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Blog_snippet with a test post - this hasn't yet appeared, which I hope is down to it being in a queue, rather than my incompetence (which is always a possibility :-))

I'd also like to discuss status of existing projects at some point. Hopefully we can manage this.
