Hey folks,
Britty [[m:user:aphaia]], head of the TransCom and part of the Election Committee raised an intersting idea.
CPG could, and imo should, be the committe taking care of the communication around the oncomming board elections.
What can we do?
Mainly spread the informations. This is how I think we should do it:
I] Preparation: What can we write, prepare everything, make a list of the mailing-list where we should send the statements
II] Before the elections: Write a statement explaining what's the board, who's currently in the board, who's his mandate over this year, what are the criteria to be candidate. Write a mail asking for help for the translations of the candidates statements.
III]During the elections: Send one mail at the begining saying "guys go candidates" And send a mail with all the candidates with a short, really short, description of them.
This is just the main ideas, I'm gonna raise this issue during the next meeting and I'm about to create http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Communication_Projects_Group/Board_Elections
Sounds like a very good idea :-)
I suggest we discuss it at the meeting to throw some ideas around, create a task list and then assign people to the task list so that we are motivated to get it done.
Thanks for bringing this in,
Sean
