Hi all - I know there have been challenges in getting this group going - and I thank Sean and the others for their patience.
Barring an IRC meeting (and I do want to participate there as well) I have a couple of quick questions.
How many do we have on this group list altogether? I should probably be able to find that out on the list page.
There is a list of members and their areas of interest on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Communication_Projects_Group/Membership.
Secondly, we've now got the software in place for a wordpress blog at blog.wikimedia.org. It's in the freezer for now (i.e. not operating :) but not for long.
I have flashbacks to the Fundraising "Why Give" Blog, perhaps because it's the same config. :-P (It seems you are asking us to update it here.)
What I'm wondering is if we have any pros on this list, or if we could recruit someone, who could revamp the graphics template slightly to make it look a bit more wikimedia-esque. It will always be on a page all its own, but I'd at least like it to look/feel as much like the WMF wiki as possible.
Well, the Wikimedia colors are green, red, and blue; however blue seems to be used the most on foundationwiki.
Eventually we want to unleash some new mediawiki coding/functionality that will allow us to have blogging convention built right into the mediawiki system - so there'd be no transition. I suspect a huge number of media wiki users would treasure this option.
Any thoughts? Let's discuss...
