Exactly, Walter, it is not about creating concurrence to Wikizine, WikiKurier, Signpost etc. (those will be valous sources of information), but something suitable for the general public, or those people our public outreachers often have to deal with. I prefer plain text, easy to layout, easy to print. Ziko
If you wish to make a newsletter you need to know;
- for who?
-- and if you know that; what type of stuff will you include and what not?
- will it be an official Wikimedia Foundation newsletter or not? If it
is an official newsletter I think you can reach faster more readers. But it can be seen as an public relations construction and you are editorial more limited.
Doing it; who will make it (long term)? On who can you count for help? Where/how , plain text/HTML or both?
If you have that all done you can make trial editions to see how things are working out. I would do that fairly discretely. It no fun announcing something new that never makes it to edition 3.
If possible and useful I am open to co-operation between this whatever it maybe will be of a newsletter and wikizine.
Greetings, Walter
