Pretty much. You think CC cares what commons thinks? But wikipedia is harder to ignore.

Unwarranted comment and false report on the reality, at that.
The conversation about moral rights happened on this list (commons) and although it is easier to qualify the Wikimedia Commons community as " Wikipedia" for the general public and we may want to regret that, it is indeed the comments by the Wikimedia Commons community (or at least voiced on the commons mailing-list) that are being addressed.
And for this I thank Joichi Ito and whoever else did so for carrying Wikimedia's concerns beyond the limits of this list.
Delphine
This seems much clearer. If this happens I think we should change this to default in all the usual places. One more license... :)

Awww, but we do care, and thanks -- http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/7744
By the way, the cc-licenses list is now moderated, so it's safe to subscribe, and I encourage anyone with substantive comments on the 3.01 draft changes to go there and post (you must subscribe first) -- http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/cc-licenses

Nice one :)
Good luck with your fundraiser. We should organise a co-ordinated free culture non-profit org fundraiser calendar. Ours is starting like... next week. I wonder would it be better to hit people for everything all at once, once a year, or one cause at a time continuously over the year?
cheers, Brianna

We seriously need to pass out more Ms to the population at large. If they'd just look at the dratted alphabet...
"M", "NO" "P"
I guess the Wikipedia brand/name is just too widely known; and too familiar to people, even when they do know of Wikimedia or the Foundation.
Did they get ANY feedback from Wikipedia, though? I imagine the only people who were really concerned were us Commoners, less so people from the encyclopedias.

We should spread big flashy banners "M <> P" along Wikimedia projects.
Does anyone have a comment of substance?
Like, does this solve or at least partially address the complaints and concerns that were raised by Wikimedians?
We live with being identified via Wikipedia, it's like being Albert Einstein's sister.

I apologize for the Wikipedia/Wikimedia thing. I think it was the conversation here that was the core of the dialog.
We are looking for feedback from you and would like to make sure we are addressing your concerns. It is going to take a great deal of effort to do this and we want to make sure we get it right this time.
Thanks.
