I am working on a new JavaScript tool to ease patrolling of images. It can rearrange galleries (or gallery structures, including categories and some Special: pages) to show one thumbnail per row, and data (text, size, categories) of the images next to it. Try
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Newimages?withJS=MediaWiki:Gallery...
and click on "GalleryDetails" in the sidebar toolbox. Note that it might take a few seconds to get all the information (via API), during which nothing appears to happen.
Please have a look, tell me if you like it, and make suggestions. I was thinking of adding "no source"/"no license" links next.
Cheers, Magnus

Nice! You could perhaps add one of those rotating icon things to let people know that the script is working. Also, would it be possible to add the information for each image as the script retrieves the data (presuming the script queries the API separately for each image)?

I am currently working on making it much faster by grouping queries. However, I will leave within the hour for Oxford, which is starting to flood as I type, so I might be out of communication for a few days :-(
Cheers, Magnus
I have been improving it. Now it gets akk the information on the same API query. From 46 seconds now it's about 2. I also reworked some code to avoid those innerHTML and use DOM calls instead. Any problems, suggestions... just report it ;-)

I returned yesterday evening and was about to fix my half-finished POST code when I saw you beat me to it. So I could get some sleep instead. Yeah! :-)
Nice work!

It's really amazing how these magazine covers uploaded by red-link-users stand out in the crowd now. They almost scream at you, "delete me, delete me !" :)
