Hi,
I did follow the Wikivoyage project proposal with interest and I greet the work you have done throw that not so simple process.
I am now developing and updating another sister project proposal: Wikikids http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikikids , an equivalent of Wikipedia for 8-13 years old children.
The situation has some similarities with Wikitravel/wikivoyage, for there is existing projects to be adopted (I opened Vikidia in French, which is one of the two independent such wikis already well developed.) Actually, we won't have the difficulty to deal with an unwilling wiki owner as it happened for Wikitravel. I guess that the difficulty will be rather to choose how to deal with the very neighbouring scope of Simple English Wikipedia.
We had recently an answer/question from a representative of the other similar (and well working) wiki WikiKids.nl that could also be adopted and join the project : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wikikids#WikiKids_in_the_Netherlands
He asks "what would that mean for us" to be a sisterproject of Wikimedia.
That leaded me to you, what would you reply ? What are the advantages of being a sisterproject of Wikimedia, especially for those that already were ran as non-profit ?
I read the January thread "Reflections" ( http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikivoyage-l/2013-January/thread.html#4... ) that seems to show that the (re-)launching spot a big light on your project and a big impulse. That was just during or short after the notice on the Wikimedia projects. Do you have a more complete sight a bit more than 2 months after that ?
Beside 2 Wikikids-like projects that are doing well, we opened Vikidia in es: and it: in which didn't work so well. I wonder if it can give another chance for them to develop.
I've read the submissions for Wikimania 2013 in Hong Kong "Creating a new sister project, the re-birth of Wikivoyage": http://wikimania2013.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/Creating_a_new_sister_pr...
Moreover, any advice for the next steps of this proposal or criticism on how it's displayed now would be welcomed !
Thanks !

Not so much different precisely, that's why I wrote "Actually, we won't have the difficulty to deal with an unwilling wiki owner as it happened for Wikitravel. I guess that the difficulty will be rather to choose how to deal with the very neighbouring scope of Simple English Wikipedia."
