Hello all
Just seen that Skobbler, a great map app that uses OpenStreetMap is starting to use Wikitravel over Wikivoyage for their travel guides in the app, is anybody aware as to why they would do this?

Nope, it's a new feature.
From the techcrunch article - "Berlin-based maps and navigation app maker
Skobbler http://www.skobbler.co.uk/, which has its own map engine and combines it with OpenStreetMap http://www.openstreetmap.org/ (OSM) data to power a range of mapping apps, has updated its iOS global maps app, ForeverMap 2https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forevermap-2-worldwide-offline/id424183595?mt=8, to add a travel guide with popular location information to further expand the offering. As with the crowd-created OSM data, which Skobbler uses to power its entire range of mapping and sat-nav apps, the travel guide data is crowdsourced — powered by Wikitravel http://wikitravel.org/en/Main_Page."

If they didn't before, they do now. I sent an e-mail to their support address on 12/07/13:
''' To Whom it May Concern
I have just seen that you have started to use Wikitravel over Wikivoyage for your travel guides, considering what has happened recently regarding the fork of Wikitravel to Wikivoage I was wondering what influenced your decision for using Wikitravel, I understand that there may be a few dead images because of it but these are rapidly being fixed and new content is being added at a quicker pace than Wikitravel by an increasing number of contributors.
The reason that I started to contribute to Wikivoage was because of their recent integration of OpenStreetMap maps and POI's on the site, something that I would have thought you could make great use of in the near future.
If you have a moment, I would suggest having look over the following links that back up my statements and provide further information on the whole forking mess!
http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Wikitravel http://skift.com/2013/01/14/opinion-6-reasons-why-wikivoyage-is-already-bett...
Any reply would be much appreciated and with your permission I would like to forward your response to the Wikivoyage mailing list ( https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikivoyage-l)
Kind Regards
