The draft is off to a great start and already looks good.
I suggest further drafting could be done in our shared wiki, which is what I suggested but did not explain before, not in our en wiki. How about moving the draft to a subpage of meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikivoyage? Maybe something like: meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikivoyage/Launch_press_release
Our Meta page, and subpages of it, is where we could discuss matters that effect all language versions of Wikivoyage in an inclusive manner. Also, once the launch press release is finalized in English, translations of it could be done if needed by members of the respective language versions of Wikivoyage and put up on appropriate language subpage of the English language press release, ie: meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikivoyage/Launch_press_release/de meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikivoyage/Launch_press_release/fr meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikivoyage/Launch_press_release/it etc.
That is the way translated pages are normally handled on Meta, I think. Yes, discussion on Meta is in English, for practical reasons. And translations, when needed there, go on a subpage of the English page using language codes. It is practical and mirrors our former practice on Shared.
This would be a great opportunity to demo our community space. Yes? Didn't we use our Shared wiki for such inclusive matters? Meta is our new Shared for discussions while Commons is our new Shared for files.
The interwiki link to our Meta home page is [[m:Wikivoyage]]. So the interwiki link from Wikivoyage to the above proposed draft page would be: [[m:Wikivoyage:Launch press release]].
James, would you object to moving the draft to Meta now so that it stands in shared all-languages community space?
