Dear Asaf, Thank you very much for your valuable comments. Yes, its really an inspiring project. The biggest challenge to us is the old and brittle books. We have started our project by digitising books published in 1881, which are the oldest in this library. With the support of Wikimedia India Chapter we procured an over head scanner (Fujitsu Scansnap SV600), which is just perfect for this kind of project.

Dear Asaf,
You can find the details of the project in the following link,

- Here you can see, 3 Wikimedians from West Bengal are involved in
the project. Wikimedia India is funding it. 2) The digitization process is taking place in the Institute.
Thanks for your interest. Please give your valuable feedback.

Excellent coverage! And a very inspiring project, with a very
inspiring
hero of archiving at its centre.
Could you tell us a little more about the process? e.g. how many
Wikimedia
volunteers are involved? Where does the digitization take place?
Cheers from San Francisco,
Asaf
