Ilya is right. While it is a "cool" think to have, It has not been really all that useful. Off the top of my head useful calls to it include: *2 things by MrM (http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Image:Wikinews_Hotline_submission_-_December_30%... http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Image:Wikinews_Hotline_submission_-_January_14%2... ) *someone looking for something along the lines of info-en@wikimedia,org (I forwarded their message as an attachment) *Someone reporting vandalism (but by the time the hotline message got read it had been fixed http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Image:Wikinews_hotline_-_May_6%2C_2007.ogg *Whatever was in [[Image:2025511120-0822-222036.ogg]]
The hotline messages that have been useful should be listed at [[Wikinews:Hotline]].
Anyways, ~5 useful (really only 2, and they weren't that useful, as I remember that no one on irc had any idea about basketball, and didn't understand MrM's message, so it ended up sitting there until he came online). Over a period of what a year and a half? is not really that great.

And perhaps to replace the hotline we create a huge, updated list of contact details on heaps of Wikinews. This could include cellphones to text or call with tips, home phones, Skype account details, etc. How 'bout that?
