This is the same thing as saying if you are gay hide it. I don't flaunt it in the US. I am gay and that ill not change no matter where I go. I am not about to hide who i am in any way just to make people happy. That is not how it should work. Everyone everywhere (all Wikimedians) should be comfortable and feel safe where they are going. Not only that, its not like Egypt tried to hide what they do to homosexuals, because i find many reports on google.
Point is: no on should have to hide who they are. If that country is that opressed, then why should it be worthy of Wikimania? That's not fair to what seems to be a large population of LGBT Wikimedians.

The restrictions you have to put up with in Egypt are simple to deal with. You don't hit on every local male, you don't go out of your way to show you are a gay person, and the fact that you keep your sexuality private isn't related to it being Egypt.
