I'm forwarding this to the mailing list and hoping attachments aren't stripped. Assuming they aren't, this is the template for English Wikinews' Print Edition.
Firstly, I'd like as many en.wn people as possible able to create a Print Ed. in case Craig has problems with it again. Second, I'm wondering if there is any interest in other language editions translating the template and running their own print edition.
From my own experience, this is the most effective advertising/handout for
meetups and conferences. I printed numerous copies at Wikimania this year and all got taken away.
Use of the template requires OpenOffice, I managed quite happily to open it with version 2 (latest British English version) but version 3 of OO is out and it should happily work with that too.
Filling it in should be fairly simple and obvious, just lots of cut and paste; just look at one of the existing versions on Commons to see what it should look like. For anyone setting up non-English version you may wish to strip out sections if your language's Wikipedia doesn't have current events, or there is no Quote Of The Day to use.
If the attachment is stripped, please email me directly for a copy. The file is 264 KB so there should be no problems mailing it around.

Hi, We actually did have a print edition for today. I finally got some time to do one :). I expect to be able to continue to keep them up to date for now.
I have attached the template for if you ever ant to do one. For the most part it is just lots of copying and pasting. You use yesterdays news and todays stuff for everything else. -Craig

Craig,
We really could have done with a print edition today as cary and one of the other contributors are attending a Creative Commons meetup and giving a presentation.
Since you've been unable to maintain it since sometime in October, could you please send me the template and some brief instructions? I can install OpenOffice and as I'm on every day do it in the mornings.
