This is a call for presentations by Sunday, October 15 for WikiConference North America https://wikiconference.org/wiki/2022 (Nov 11-13) held jointly with OpenStreetMap US's Mapping USA https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/United_States/Events/Mapping_USA/2022. We encourage you to please submit your Wikipedia and Wikimedia proposals at Wikiconference:2022/Submissions https://wikiconference.org/wiki/2022/Submissions and OpenStreetMap US proposals at Call for Proposals: WikiConference North America + Mapping USA https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJuZPa-01jb53u82YXRPlxZp2xad6I_StrbZQKacdbnWxd-Q/viewform. We are looking for lightning talks in particular on Friday, Nov 11. We welcome workshops, editathons/mapthons, birds of a feathers, and presentations on Saturday and Sunday.
Some suggestions:
- Cultural similarities and differences, for instance OpenStreetMap and Wikivoyage (map and describe what you know) versus Wikipedia (verify with citations) - Type of licensing for each project and how they differ: OpenStreetMap, Commons, Wikidata, and Wikipedia - The flow of information from one project into another, and how maps are generated - How OpenHistoricalMaps https://openhistoricalmap.org/ works and possible interactions with Wikimedia projects - Your ideas!
