Hi fellow Wiki-Americans,
Every US usergroup is being invited to pick an "affiliate representative" to help participate in the process for the WMF board election, that will narrow the 13 candidates to 6 that will appear on the ballot:

The deadline is in 10 days!
Thanks, Richard (User:Pharos)
Thanks for providing that link Pharos: this is for seating someone to an analysis committee https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Affiliate_Organization_Participation/Analysis_Committee to help rate candidates in discussion with 8 other regional or thematic representatives.
The ratings will be for informational purposes. The original timeline hoped to have this decided by the 15th. It was later extended until the 20th. I am hoping North American affiliates can finalize this within the next few business days. There are currently four nominees https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Affiliates_regional_distribution_for_the_Analysis_Committee/North_America#Users_willing_to_be_an_Analysis_Committee_member for this committee seat.
As you mentioned, each affiliate is also asked to select one representative to participate in the affiliate question period and cast a vote on behalf of the affiliate organization during the affiliate voting period: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Affiliat...
See the full timeline: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022#Timeline https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2022_Board_of_Trustees_Election_time...
I am pleased to present the thirteen trustee candidates: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_elections/2022/Candidat...
Let me know if you have any questions.

This procedure is apparently based on the belief that the various regional and thematic user groups are unable to evaluate candidates themselves, without having guidance on how to do so by a special committee chosen for the purpose.

I don't see any description on this pge of how the affiliate voting will happen - that page too seems to only describe the analysis committee. What are the various facilitators listed on that page facilitating?
