WikiConference North America will be held Nov 8-11 2019 at MIT, in
collaboration with the Credibility Coalition. This year’s theme is
“reliability/credibility.” Wikimedians from around North America will
gather to discuss issues of misinformation, teaching with Wikipedia,
Wikidata, outreach to cultural institutions, inclusion and diversity in the
Wikimedia projects, tech and tools for reliable information, and much more.
Those new to the Wikimedia projects are welcome along with experienced
editors.
Friday Nov. 8 will be a “culture crawl” day, featuring workshops,
trainings, Wikipedia editing and backstage tours of local museums, based at
the Museum of Fine Arts in downtown Boston. Saturday and Sunday Nov 9-10
will be conference days at the Stata Center on the MIT campus, featuring
five tracks of presentations, workshops and discussions. Monday Nov. 11
will be a hands-on hackathon and discussion day at MIT, centered around
projects and tools related to information reliability.
Can't wait to welcome you all to Cambridge!
best,
Phoebe
