Hi Liam,
If I remember correct, there was a day tour organised for Wikipedians at the British Museum last year - unfortunately I could not make it then, however it would be good to meet you in Mumbai. I could list a few places that could be of interest to you apart from those mentioned.
1. NCPA 2. National Gallery of Modern Art (opposite Prince of Wales Museum) 3. Jehangir Art Gallery 4. CST Museum (at CST) 5. Navy Museum at Ballard Pier 6. RBI Museum on P.M. Road 7. Bhau Daji Lad Museum 8. David Sassoon Library 9. Asiatic Library (Town Hall) 10. State Archives and University Archives at Fort (no idea what permissions would be required for entry to these places!)
Do let us know if you need any field assistance.

hi,
Another interesting topic would be if public officials wanted data to be input in multiple languages - say English, Hindi and Marathi for Mumbai, Kannada in Bangalore. It'd be interesting to see how GLAM could jump across languages.
I am not sure if the public officials would bring this up on the first meeting itself but we might consider it.
Also, some of the libraries also have content in various languages including Sanskrit. I find that this is the case in the two libraries listed here - http://wikimedia.in/wiki/Projects:GLAM_2011/Mumbai_Feb2011/Planning. The Asiatic Library contains works in Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Prakrit.
