Added my name and those I can contact in "institutions to connect with".
Related to this, need one point of clarification: are we doing the wiki meetup at JJ or at TISS? Important to know, since most of the GLAM institutions listed are in south Mumbai, and since the whole idea of collaborating with wikipedia will be a new one for them, I think it will be hard to get them to come to a meeting far away.
Also, another possibility (Liam had suggested this) is to do a separate wiki meetup and a separate meeting with GLAM institutions.
Could we please discuss and settle on this, so I know what to invite GLAM folks for? And tentative dates, since they will need to block their time? (Pradeep had pointed out that many GLAM instns closed on Monday so let's take this into account too).
I am travelling till Monday so will only start inviting from Tue 1 Feb, but it may take some time to figure this out, so raising it now.
Cheers Bishakha
hi,
I do not think that members of the GLAM institutions would come for a central meeting. We might have to go to their office and meet them. However, there is no harm in trying to invite them. It'd be great to know if we can use the name of Wikimedia Foundation India, if they are to ask for an institution we are representing (a common question).
Only some GLAM institutions are closed on Monday. This is owing to a working Saturday and Sunday that it is open for the public. This does not apply to all institutions though.
Vivek is trying to establish a contact to a faculty member at JJ School of Art. Any update from TISS?
warm regards, Pradeep Mohandas

Hi,
May be of use to attend a lecture by Niel MacGregor (Director, British Museum) at the Prince of Wales Museum on 8th February at 6pm on World Museums, History and Contemporary Society prior to Liams visit.

Well, if you do manage to go, and you do manage to either talk to him or to ask a question at the end, make sure you mention the "wikipedian in residence" project that I did and that you are now looking to do something "similar" in India. It might be an interesting lecture in its own right but maybe, just maybe, you can get some contacts or a positive response from him. I have yet to meet Niel MacGregor but I know that he is aware of the project I ran in "his" museum :-) -Liam
