Hi,
the Mumbai community had organised a photowalk to support Wiki Loves
Monuments in India; organised by Wikimedia India Chapter.
Scheduled on 22 September Saturday morning at 8 am, Dadar Nakshatra mall
was the meeting point for all. However, the morning wasn't good at all
because of heavy rains and hence had to go forward with 9 participants
after waiting for an hour at the meeting point.
We all went in a single group and firstly went to Mahim fort (which is no
longer left), Bandra Fort, Sion Fort, August Kranti Maidan and Banganga
Tank. If it wasn't heavy rains, things would have been different, though
whether was is not in our hands. Less participants also made possible in
better knowing of all and they were amazed with such plans and made sure to
participate in further events.
On behalf of Wiki Loves Monuments India team, I would like to thank *Nikita
Belavate, Krutikka Jawanjal and Manan Shah*. Nikita had worked on with
lists by preparing plans and also stayed in touch with participants post
Photowalk and guided them on how to upload to Wikimedia Commons. Krutikka
helped in inviting lots of friends, and stood till the end on-ground
lending a strong support. She also stood connected with participants
post-Photowalk. Missed Manan at the event, though he had poured in with
lots of ideas for the Photowalk. *Thank you again all three, for helping
make things possible. *Never to forget international organisers *Effiet
Sanders *and *Tomasz Kozlowshi* for helping organising and yeah, Naveen
deserves more than thanks :)
*
*
Not to forget all participants who stood with us in the rainy climate and
walked with us in all levels. Some of them have already uploaded images
while some of them will be doing it soon. Thanks all!

Dear all,
Sorry for the short notice, but was trying to get enough women editors from
Mumbai involved and find a venue - both are on track now, so this can
happen.
Am writing to invite the Mumbai wp community to an informal meeting Sunday
16 Sept to plan a wiki academy or workshop for women in Mumbai.
Here is where I am coming from: In my day job, I run a non-profit called Point
of View <http://www.pointofview.org>, which promotes the points of view of
women through media, art and culture. In this capacity and others, I
routinely come across women, including other NGOs working with women, and
with women bloggers and others active on social media. Many of them have
expressed a tentative interest in editing wikipedia, but are stuck at this
place. Pranav and I visited one such org in Mumbai earlier this year, but
it's too time-consuming going org by org.
Instead, I propose that we start with an introductory workshop for
interested individuals/organizations and then perhaps follow up with those
who are more interested...hoping to do the introductory workshop sometime
in November. And hoping that each of you can similarly invite interested
women to the Nov workshop.
This is a working meeting devoted to planning this workshop. If you would
like to be part of it and help reduce the gender gap at wikipedia, please
do come!
The meeting will be held at 4 pm on Sunday 16 Sept at Pinstorm's office
(many thanks, Netra for offering us this facility).

Could you please give me the email id of the more prominent active wiki
volunteers in Hyderabad. we want to have a WIKi event during the Peoples
Bio-diversity Festival to be held in Hyderabad from 13th to 16th Oct.

Hi all,
I agree with Manan,
Having been done with photowalk early this year, we can now have something
called monument and can cover all the monuments, most of which weren't
covered in the photowalk. This weekend will result in too short time to
prepare, hence may be we can have such an event in next weekend.
Anyone willing to take lead for this?

Hi Mumbai Wikipedians!
Hope everyone would be moving around the city clicking images! Just wanted
to drop in a suggestion here
Can we arrange a small knowledge sharing cum get-together meet-up
in Mumbai around the places as per the WLM list where the experienced and
expert photographers in the community share their knowledge as well as
tricks and tips with amateurs like myself about photography while we take
pics for WLM.
Here, If someone can volunteer to help amateurs and spare say 2-3 hours
over the weekend on 8-9th Sept or 15-16 Sept we can take WLM to a new level.
Please do let me know your views on the same.
Happy Clicking :)
Regards,
Manan Shah
