Would the second Tuesday in August work?
Tentative agenda:
I am hoping that we can get a Wikimania report from Peaceray.
I also hope to be able to report on meetings with WMUK and Wikimedia Community Ireland regarding their experiences with growth strategies.
Brian and I have bank paperwork to sign.
We are scheduling a meeting with UW about plans for the upcoming academic year.
We also need to plan board elections for next year. At this time I'm not aware of any new candidates or anyone who wants to step down.
Please indicate if the 2nd Tuesday in August is ok, and if you need to participate remotely.
Thanks, Pine
I already added an event on our meet up page for Seattle at Café Alfredo. I haven't reserved tables with them yet for that date.
Yours, Peaceray

Tues Aug 11 works for me.
Do folks recommend train or car for Portland<->Seattle day trip? I have no car so would have to rent one for the day if I drive, but that's easy enough to do.

I like train + bicycle for Portland <-> Seattle. You'd need to reserve a spot for your bicycle on the train, unless you have a folding bicycle.
Best,
Mika

Plus, every public bus in Seattle has a rack for three bikes on the front.
Carwise, Seattle has a real traffic problem around rush hours. The buses at least get to use HOV lanes & dedicated lanes when available.

Nice! I'll have to get a bike sometime; seems like a good area for it.
Checking the schedule for Amtrak Cascades & Coast Starlight routes though, it looks like there's not a southbound evening or night train after the 6:05pm departure from Seattle, which won't work well for a 6pm-8pm meetup. :)
I'll probably rent a car for the day; sounds like I can avoid peak traffic times if I arrive early and do a little sightseeing in the afternoon.

Sounds good. Depending on what time I get off of work, I (and maybe others) might be able to meet you ahead of the official meeting for a little Seattle sightseeing.
For those who haven't found it, the meeting signup is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Seattle

Reminder that the meetup is tomorrow night. The regular meeting starts at 6 PM in Cafe Allegro. If you can't find the group, please be sure to check the upstairs seating area. You can ask a Allegro staff member if you need help to find the stairway.
There is an optional pre-meetup dinner scheduled at 5:15 at the Thaiger Room (http://www.yelp.com/biz/thaiger-room-seattle).
See you tomorrow,
Pine
