The new Burke museum opens this month. Would any Cascadians be interested in going there for a field trip?
I'd be interested after WikiConference. I'll keep my eye out for a library pass so that we can go as a group for free.

I'm certainly planning to go some time. Right now I'm "up to my ass in alligators" and not really making any new commitments I don't have to.

Hello,
Thanks to those who expressed interest in a trip to the new Burke Museum. I created a Doodle poll at https://doodle.com/poll/nevisya4nqit2ywp. The Burke's hours are 10 AM to 5 PM every day, so weekday options may be problematic for many of us. I decided to offer options that are during UW's winter break in December. The poll is set to be semi-private so that the names of voters won't be public. Please respond to the poll if you would like to come.
Tickets are normally $22 for adults. There are discounts for students and seniors. UW students, faculty, and staff get free admission.
If we can agree to a date a month in advance, it wouldn't be hard to get a two-person museum pass from the Seattle Public Library to help with the cost of admission.
I did go to the museum's opening weekend with some friends, and it is well worth a second visit.

I'm opting out of the poll because I have no idea what my time may be shaped like 2 months out, but I'm likely to be able to go at the time selected.

Now that we're closer to the date, I've selected the final option from the poll for December 14 at 2:30 PM. I'll have my Google Hangouts active so anyone who comes can let me know through Hangouts that you've arrived.

Hi Seattle Wikimedians,
This is a reminder about tomorrow's meetup at the new Burke Museum at 2:30 PM. I'm guessing that there will be between 4 and 8 people who participate. I will have my Google Hangouts active, but the area can be noisy/busy and I may not hear or feel a Hangouts call. If you decide to come then please look for me and other people that you know near the ticketing area or the museum cafe between about 2:20 and 2:40.
Best wishes, Pine ( https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Pine )
