Please let me know if you're interested in attending. :)

Well, yes, this is short notice if you wanted to reach out to the community, especially since these hours fall during the usual business hours & would require taking off time from work. And while I normally leap at any excuse to get away from work, I doubt I could get time off on such short notice.
BTW, I suspect I'm the only subscriber on the Wikimedia Cascadia list who lives in the Portland area. (It's been a while since we had a meetup down here, so it's possible. Heck, it's been awhile since I've seen an email from the mailing list.) Most of the group is based in the Seattle area, so I don't know who -- if anyone -- from the community will show up. And although it was over 10 years ago, last time I met with a C-level from the Foundation I wasn't impressed.

Well, some people might be available, and it’s good to reach out to mailing lists like this just in case. I will be attending, and if anyone else in the Portland area is available, I hope to see you there too. If not, we will have another meetup sometime, at a more convenient time. There is no good reason to be unfriendly here.

Hi James,
I live in the Portland area now too, so it would be great to see you again and meet anyone else who can join.
I'd also love to help with future meetups (Pandemic/time permitting). I added this meetup to Wikipedia:Meetup/Portland https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Portland, and we can use that for planning future events too.
I also wanted to say thank you to Janna for organizing and sharing the invitation.
Best, Stephen

It was great to see you yesterday, James & Stephen! A few other folks from around Portland showed up as well, and here's an incomplete list of topics from our chats:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potential_cultural_impact_of_extraterrestrial_... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_doctor The implications of AI generated images on Wikipedia https://botm.fandom.com/wiki/Beasts_of_the_Mesozoic
It was a fun conversation! We talked about publishing lists of Wikipedia (and Fandom!) pages we discuss in future gatherings. I am looking to set up another gathering next month.

Wanted to introduce Sherry to this thread, as she is visiting Portland currently.
Thanks, Richard (User:Pharos)
