Hey all,
After some discussion at WikiConference USA, there was some movement among Wikimedians in the Pacific Northwest toward forming a formal user group affiliated with the WMF.
The discussion is ongoing and taking place here: < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Cascadia_Wikimedians#Sign_on_to_be_a_Fo.... We've also been discussing what precisely our name should be, going forward: <http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Cascadia_Wikimedians#Our_name
.
Check both out! And all the best for your guys' summers.
Best, Roman
Thank you, Roman.
I invite all to come participate in the discussions taking place at Meta. I imagine the user group founders list will be available to sign for a few days before moving forward, just to give people who were not at the conference the opportunity to participate or ask questions. The name discussion may continue a while longer, which is fine and does not impact the initial stage of applying for user group status.
