Hi all,
I've been working on the FAC for Arlington, Washington
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates/Arlingtā¦>
for a few days now, and hit a bit of a roadblock in its source review.
Specifically, the "high quality" sources clause from the FA criteria. I'm
struggling to justify the use of HistoryLink as a "high quality" source, as
well as early 20th century books that are used to cite specific details of
the city's history (the name and occupation of its first mayor, the founder
of Haller City, etc.).
This is my first real attempt at a FAC, so I'm a bit nervous about how to
proceed.

Hello,
This is reminder to vote in the 2017 Wikimedia Foundation elections before
14 May. Anyone who has ever made 300 Wikimedia edits and 20 edits in the
last year is eligible to vote.
The election seats 3 of the 10 members of the Wikimedia Foundation board of
trustees. The board oversees the work of the WMF executive director and
also approves the annual budget of $80 million.
Vote through the link on the main election page.

Note especially the candidate presentation pages
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_electi
ons/2017/Board_of_Trustees/Candidates>
and the questions.

Again, there are 3 seats for these 8 candidates. As a matter of opinion, I
think all the candidates are good and any election outcome will have
benefits. However, I encourage all eligible voters to vote now and be aware
that you have ongoing opportunities to talk with the board we all select
and express your wishes and concerns.
Thanks,

Despite its wide reach, content on Wikipedia suffers from the bias of its
editors: white, technically inclined, English-speaking men that live in
developed, majority-Christian countries. This represents an alarming
absence of voices in an increasingly important repository of shared
knowledge.
In an effort to change this, the Jake is organizing a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon
on Saturday, May 6th, 1 - 5 pm. Our mission is to bring together diverse
communities to participate in Wikipedia editing, and improve its coverage
of queer people and women of color in the arts.
We will provide childcare, snacks, and tutorials for the beginner editor.
Bring your laptop, powercord and ideas for entries that need updating or
creation. No previous Wikipedia experience required!
Stay tuned to our Facebook
