Hello,
It would be nice if Cascadia could encourage anyone local to apply.

One of the job requirements is living near one of their offices. One is in
Seattle.

Hello colleagues,
This afternoon, Cascadia Wikimedians User Group had our annual meeting at
the University of Washington in Seattle. Meeting notes (not yet finalized)
are available at

Acting Secretary
Hello Cascadians,
As of today there is a total of $3,075.41 in the Cascadia Wikimedians bank
accounts.
I am still working through the accounting for our WMF grant funding. I have
a draft report here:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG/Cascadia_Wikimedians_User_Group/…
Of the $6765.81, it appears that we spent $4419.79. Any remaining funds
from the grant, estimated at $2346.02, will be returned to WMF.
If we take the funds in the bank, $3,075.41, and subtract the amount
estimated to be returned to WMF, $2346.02, that leaves us $729.39 that we
will retain for our use. That $729.39 amount is higher than I anticipated,
and I will be doing further work to verify the correct amount.
WMF will look at our receipts for our expenses before accepting our grant
report.
I will be at the meeting this afternoon and am available for questions,
both at the meeting and online. At this point my work focuses on reporting
for past expenses, and I believe that Brian and Peaceray are developing a
budget for next year.
Regards,
Pine
Hi Cascadians,
We're organizing Wikipedia Day in NYC on January 15 at the Ace Hotel.
And there are discussions to hold a simultaneous London edition at the Ace
Hotel there as well.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Wikipedia_Day_2017
I've been in touch with the Ace, are there is a possibility they may be
able to host in Seattle or Portland as well.
The Portland space is a rather bigger venue (and could be an opportunity
for new outreach there), but Seattle is probably closer to your center of
gravity. Either might be possible.
Hoping this can be a topic of discussion at the upcoming Cascadia annual
meeting!
Thanks,
Richard
