Re. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Loves_Libraries
Would anyone want to consider doing one with the Ottawa Public Library with me? I know I probs could not do it alone, and I'm not the best public speaker, so a partner would be great if there is someone willing. Would be really stellar if we could get someone who is bilingual and that way we can have a bi-lingual session (or just a separate French one). I can speak a small bit of French, but not enough to hold a conversation. :P
Please let me know ASAP if you're interested.

Thanks for the interest. This mailing list is almost dead, having been replaced by http://wikimedia.ca/wiki/Mailing_list.
Are you in contact with any of the people at [[Category:Wikipedians in Ottawa]]?

That Google mailing list is just as "dead" as this one.
All else aside, anyone from GTA (especially in York Region) who're interested?

I can't disagree about the Google mailing list ... at least it wasn't my idea.
This kind of get-together is local by nature, and could even work in the smallest communities. In looking over what's been said I find a lot of people that are willing to come out as long as someone else is organising. These events need not be elaborate.
