Hey, WMCers. I thought I'd give you another update and avoid the risk of losing people due to radio silence. Even though I've fallen way behind schedule, I still really want to see this organization get off the ground, and I hope I'll still be able to count on your help when it's ready to go.
Despite being behind schedule on the bylaws, I am still working on them when I get a chance. I've reworked a couple of sections on the site so far, and have a rough draft of a few more on my computer. I still hope to get the registration ball rolling later this year, albeit not as early as I had hoped. I should be able to get a lot more done after I finish marking exams and writing term papers next week, so keep an eye on the bylaws page if you want to see how things are going.
In our last meeting, we discussed getting our own website, and I was wondering if anyone would be able to look into that. I have no idea how to go about website registration or how much it would cost, though if someone wanted to get that ball rolling, I'm sure that the organization would be able to reimburse your costs once it is founded. I think our own private site run off of a closed wiki, like wikimediafoundation.org, would be handy.

Yes, other chapters have their websites in the wikimedia domain, something like ca.wikimedia.org?

Hi all,
I mentioned it a while back and I am paying a one time yearly fee of $65 for a .ca address of 350 Mb and $11 a month maintenance etc. I can set one up. Someone also suggested using the wikimedia pages instead of getting a seperate web adress.

Wikimedia.ca is held by Mr Ray Saintonge on the behalf of the foundation. Ask him?
