Hi everyone,
The list has been quiet during the summer, and I'm hoping now that school is starting we can get a few things done.
First thing I'd like to mention is that Toronto has tossed its name into the hat of contenders for hosting Wikimania in 2008. If you can help, or even if you want to express your support, visit http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania_2008/Bids/Toronto#Local_team and add your name.
Thanks, Gerald.
Hi all,
I'd just like to put my support behind Gerald's message. We, as Canadian Wikipedians and Wikimedians, need to put on a good face for the Wikimania jurors, let them know that Canada loves Wikimedia, and would act as a gracious host.
Putting you name on the list /does not/ mean that you're going to help with the bid, it /does not/ mean you're going to volunteer at Wikimania, it /does not/ mean you're buying a ticket to attend. While we'd love for you to do any or all of these, that's not the point.
Simply, all it means that you support the Wikimedia Foundation letting Toronto be host city of the 2008 Wikimania.
Thanks all, Nick
