As part of the internship, I am working to improve the content related to William Blake facilitated through a working group as part of English Wikipedia's WikiProject Poetry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Blake). We have already had a great amount of success creating content. I have been trying to document as many of my experiences at my blog (http://alexstinson.wordpress.com/), though that has lapsed because of grad school activities. Additionally, I have been updating Commons data of content that has been uploaded from the Blake Archive, uploading higher res versions of already uploaded information and populating a category to help keep track of it for future reporting opportunities (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Media_from_the_William_Blake_Ar… ). In several weeks, I plan to initiate a content drive for improving Blake content across languages. On Friday Oct 11 from 1-5 Central (UTC -5), I am running a Wikipedia editing event related to William Blake at the Kansas State's Beach Museum of Art making this even more of a cross-institutional collaboration. Currently, it looks like most of the attendees will be students and faculty from the English Department in which I am lodged and I would like to invite members of the GLAM-Wiki community to join us digitally to support the project. During the event, I will be coordinating activity on freenode at #wikimedia-glam. For more information, check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Poetry/William_Blake/KS… . Also, I wanted to point out that my collaboration with the Blake Archive would be a perfect opportunity to probe institutions we have contact with for offering editathons. The Archive has contributions of scans from a variety of institutions world-wide (http://www.blakearchive.org/blake/public/institutions.html) and international editathons or events in the coming months would provide an excellent model for future cross-institutional events. Hello, all-- I've already met several folks here over email, who have all been very helpful in the planning stages, so some of this information may be a bit repetitive. However, I want to get the word out as broadly as possible. Together with my co-organizer Amanda Strauss (Schlesinger Library at Radcliffe), I'm helping put together a series of Edit-a-thons at MA libraries, archives, and museums for Open Access/Wikipedia Loves Libraries Week: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Loves_Libraries/Open_Acces… We are generally enthusiastic but inexperienced, so really need your help! This is our first year in trying to organize a series like this, and we would love to have at least one experienced editor at each site. (As we contacted potential hosts, each and every one first asked about how to connect with a Wikipedia editor, so we think there are a lot of people eager to learn from you.) Hopefully, since there are multiple sites, there will be a time and place that works for different schedules. You can see that we already have four sites signed up, so if you are willing and able to be a volunteer editor at any of these sites, please save the date. As soon as we have the individual event pages for each site up, I'll send those around so you can sign up on Wikipedia, too, but I wanted to let folks know ASAP. Also, please feel free to share this widely, and let me know if you have any suggestions on where else to publicize. And feel free to tell me if we are doing anything wrong! Meeting time and other announcements

Hey all, First of all, sorry for the delay in this e-mail, as real life has been getting in the way, so I am now able to send out the e-mail officially announcing the meeting on Saturday from 2-4 in room 214 of the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences building. I have already spoken to some of you about running in the election that will be held on Saturday, assuming that we have at least 5-10 persons present, but if you are interested in running for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, or Community Liaison, let me know, because it would be great not to have to appoint these positions. Additionally, we will be discussion the Ada Lovelace Day Edit-a-thon and Wikipedia Loves Libraries, both of which are going on this month. Additionally, Open Access Week is occurring the week of October 20th, so that can also be something that is discussed, as there are at least two colleges that I know of that are planning something, so it might be good to coordinate any help that could be done between the other institutions. Finally, if you are planning on going, please respond on the Meetup page for now, as I am going to get the Wiki page up and running shortly. If too few people are planning on going, I will cancel l the meeting, and reschedule voting to occur within the next week or so, online. African languages

Hi Boston Wikimedians, I'm exploring the idea of doing outreach to university language learners to help build smaller Wikipedias. Since Boston is a hotbed of big universities, and consequently many classes in rarely-taught languages, I'm wondering if anyone in your group has done this? (For instance, I was looking at BU's African Languages program -- http://www.bu.edu/africa/forstudents/alp/ -- it would be really cool to get these students & faculty to work on the Xhosa, Wolof, etc. Wikipedias). Leaving Boston

Dear friends and colleagues, I regret to inform you that I will be leaving Boston for the foreseeable future within the next few weeks. I have enjoyed working with you all, and hope for only the best for Wikimedia New England.
