গত উইকি-ইফতারে এ নিয়ে আমাদের কিছু আলোচনা হয়েছিল। এটা অবশ্যই একটা উল্লেখযোগ্য উপলক্ষ যেটা বেশ বড় পরিসরে উদযাপন করা যায়।
উইকি-ইফতারের আলোচনায় একটা বিষয় উঠে এসেছিল যে, এই দশ বছর উদযাপন অনুষ্ঠানটা বাংলাদেশে অন্যান্য যেসব ওপেন সোর্স সংস্থা বা প্রতিষ্ঠান যেমন- মোজিলা, লিনাক্স ইত্যাদি কাজ করছে; তাদের সাথে একত্রে এবং একই ছাদের নিচে এই আয়োজনটা হবে। কিন্তু বাংলা উইকির দশ বছর- এটা বেশ তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ একটা উপলক্ষ, যেটা শুধু উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের আয়োজনেই হওয়া উচিত। এতে স্পনসর থাকতে পারে, কিন্তু আয়োজক একটাই- উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশ। এর উদ্দেশ্য একটাই- যাতে ফোকাসটা কেবল বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়া উপরেই থাকে। তাছাড়া এর ফলে বাংলা উইকিপিডিয়া ও উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের প্রচার বাড়বে। বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে একই ছাদের নিচে আয়োজন- আইডিয়াটা ভালো, কিন্তু আমার মনে হয় সেটা অন্য কোন অনুষ্ঠানের (যেমন ২০১২ সালে চট্টগ্রামে অনুষ্ঠিত উইকিপিডিয়া আনকনফারেন্স) ক্ষেত্রে হতে পারে।

I am happy to let you know that the next year on January 27, 2014 Bangla Wikipedia will be 10[1] years old. All of you will agree with me that "10 years of Bangla Wikipedia" deserves a grand celebration. We have only 5 month to plan, design, arrangements and celebrate. I think this is the right time to start community discussion and set the plan how we will work on that and make celebrate this grand anniversary.
I've create a project page[2] on Bangla Wikipedia for the discussion and coordination of the events centrally. Tou can discuss in the mailing lists, But make sure that your idea goes to Wikipedia page as well.
I would like to invite you to join the discussion. Please write down your ideas, plans and suggestions to celebrate this unique occasion for Bangla Wikipedia.
